Collingwood Today: Parkinson’s diagnosis pushes Collingwood artist to find creative voice

A Collingwood artist with a passion for nature has drawn herself a major award. Chantal Wolf is the recipient of the 2021 Murray Clerkson Award, presented by the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts. Wolf studied illustration at Sheridan College but is mostly self-taught. She worked in accounting for a few years and more recently in special education, but a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease in 2016 reignited her creativity.

“I didn’t take it as devastating news. My first thought was to dive back into my art and do all I can, while I still can,” she said.
