I am an oil painter and fibre Artist. My fibre work crosses the boundaries of fine art, textile design and craft. I paint with wool and other textiles creating highly textured bold and colorful landscapes, animal portraits, floral and abstracts. My fibre paintings include hooked and Needle felted pieces, many incorporating both techniques.

Cheryl Sheridan is a weaver, fibre dyer and sock “cranker”. Her addiction to weaving began with a floor loom on the side of the road with a free sign hanging precariously from the unloved piece. Today, The Barn Studio houses more than 20 looms for participants to drop in, experience and use one’s imagination to create a one-of-a-kind handwoven piece. Cheryl also has a collection of circular sock knitting machines….. sock cranking – good for the sole!! She has offered presentations to Guilds and conferences, a guest speaker and demonstrator at local museums and surrounding historical societies and finally, instructor of private and group lessons in weaving, fibre dying and sock cranking both at The Barn Studio and John C Campbell Folk School.
