Shop Volunteer
The Shop Assistant Volunteer is the face of our vibrant shop and gallery. You are often the first point of contact for guests and play a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for all visitors and members who visit our premises.

Key Responsibilities
• Greet visitors warmly and make them feel at ease upon arrival. Interact with customers in a friendly and engaging manner, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
• Unlock doors, turn on lights, and review relevant manuals and the BMFA website for any updates. Stay informed about new exhibits. Keep the gallery and shop tidy and visually appealing throughout the day. At the end of the shift, lock doors, turn off lights, and return the key to the lockbox.
• Promote the Shop and Events: Share information about the shop, gallery, and current or upcoming events. Encourage visitors to take pamphlets about workshops, shows, membership, or volunteering. Invite guests to future events and shows and ask them to sign the guest book to receive the newsletter.
• Process Transactions: Handle payments using Square and ensure purchases are wrapped appropriately.
• Process new memberships and renewals using Zeffy.

Requirements
• Customer Focus: The Shop Assistant represents the BMFA and may be the only contact a customer has with the organization. It is essential to be welcoming, engaging, and knowledgeable about the organization.
• Experience: Experience working in a shop is a bonus – we offer hands-on training
