Winter’s Gift 2018
Wednesday, November 7th to Saturday, January 5th, 2019

We invite interested artists and artisans to apply for entry to our 10th, Juried Holiday Gift Show…..”Winter’s Gift” . This show exhibits art and crafts. There is a wide selection of work including, paintings, glass, pottery, jewellery, textiles, metal, sculpture and woodworking.

Application Deadline: Friday, October 12th

  • Work submitted for exhibition will be juried.
  • Successful applicants will be contacted by October 17th
  • Show Intake – November 5th and 6th
  • Show Take Down and Pick Up – January 7th or by special arrangement.
  • Current members of the BMFA Gift Shop need not provide images.

Information for Artists:

1. Entry fee is $40.00 for valid BMFA members for a 2 month show. Upon written acceptance via e-mail in the show, payment must be mailed or dropped off at the BMFA within 7 days.

2. BMFA membership must be up to date at time of intake.

3. Include in your application e-mail:

  • Contact Information: Name, Address, Telephone Number (Cell), e-mail address
  • 3 - 5 digital images of the work you plan to exhibit and sell.
  • An artist statement or bio which will be included in the “Artist’s Sales Binder”.

4. Work can be of any size, but acceptance of pieces is at the discretion of the committee. The artist is allowed to have an approximate 3 x 6 ft space. Please stay within that framework. Work must be professionally presented, ready to hang or install, with appropriate hardware. (No work on used canvas. If not framed, sides must be painted. All work must be original new material to the BMFA and made by hand by the artist. The BMFA reserves the right to reject work it does not feel fits with the aesthetics of the show.

5. The BMFA will retain a 35% commission on all work.

6. All participating artists are required to volunteer for 3 or 4 shifts of 3 to 3.5 hours/shift over the 8 week period. In December we will stay open until 5:30 pm. Artists who do not complete their shift will be charged a $ fee. This show is run by the combined effort of the artist participants. If you have not volunteered at the BMFA on the sales desk, there will a mandatory orientation on day of intake.

7. Delivery and Pick Up of artwork, artist closing inventory, and sales record verified is the sole responsibility of the artist. Work must be delivered to the Arts Centre by the artist. You will be required to stay and help set up and take down for approx 4 hours or until set-up/take down is done.

8. BMFA retains the right to use images of submitted entries in promotional materials.

9. The BMFA is not liable for any theft, loss or damage to art work. Insurance is the responsibility of the entrant.
