‘Through the Eyes of a Rescue’ ~ Juror’s Choice Photo – 2020
This is my rescue dog Mabel, the beagle. This image was taken only days after her adoption in June of 2018. The light in the house that day was beautiful as I sat on the floor with my camera in hand and an off camera flash on the floor.
I love portraits and for me it is all about the eyes and the connection those eyes have with the viewer.
Mabel’s eyes are soulful and they really came across that way in her portrait. I did some enhancements in Lightroom and some adjustments in Photoshop to complete the image. This is still one of my favourite photographs of Mabel.
It hangs in our home on my art wall that I created with some of my favourite pictures taken by me.
