Stay Out of the Mud: Mix the Colours You Want

This three part series for intermediate and beginner painters is designed to help you make informed choices about the colours you choose to create the effects you want. Learn how to make knowledgeable choices about the colours you choose to create the effects you want. Each workshop will combine technical information to help you make better choices followed by practical painting exercises designed to give you real life experience in developing control and confidence in mixing.
Materials List: Acrylic OR Oil
Acrylic paint: Water container
Shop towels (blue towels)
1 palette knife for mixing
Pencil for jotting notes about colour mixes
Brushes – #4 or # 6 flat or bright
Paper Palette 12” x 16” or any flat palette
Painting surface. 12” x 16” 10 sheet Canvas pad. Available at Gwartzman’s, Aboveground or Deserres
Please note that if you use oil paint, please bring only oil for cleaning and thinning your paint. Do not bring solvents. Acceptable oils for cleaning your brushes: baby oil, canola or vegetable oil. Walnut oil is ideal for thinning paint, but expensive for cleaning.
Paint: Titanium White, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue (Red Shade,) Cadmium Yellow Medium,Burnt Sienna
