Preferred Media: Digital Photography
Jessalynn Sammons always had a keen eye for detail and enjoyed sketching and drawing even from a young age.
She won many art awards throughout her school years, such as First Place in the “BMFA 23rd Annual Juried Art Show, Student Category” in Collingwood.
By her adult years, Jessalynn started to use digital photography as her medium. In 2014 Jessalynn started a personal project on Instagram and took one photo a day for an entire year. This helped her to appreciate the small things in life and to develop her photography techniques.
Four years ago, Jessalynn fell in love with The Bruce Trail. Since 2016 she has logged over 250 km of hiking, and photographing the beautiful scenery, fauna and flora as she travels along. Her favourite subjects are the rolling hills, winding trails, and cloud formations.
Recently, Jessalynn decided to use her exploration in photography to be involved in various art shows and Juried contests and has been part of BMFA’s “Every Picture Tells a Story: Photo Exhibition,” and was also an Artist on Location during the Creemore Festival of the Arts, both in October 2019.
Jessalynn currently has various canvas prints of her photography in many locations in Collingwood.
