Lenore Burton

"Blue Graphic"

"Rock Pattern"

"Norway Ripples"

Lenore’s work represents the effect that light and shadow play on lines, shapes, patterns, and textures. She looks beyond that which is complex and reduces it to its simplest form with the end result unmasking the raw graphics that lie within.

Her passion for photography began when she studied the art of photography at York University. She believes in lifelong learning and has taken workshops with photographers such as Freeman Patterson, Andre Gallant, Richard Martin, Tony Sweet, Rob Stimpson, and Nikhil Bahl. She shared her knowledge from those experiences with her students at Georgian College.

She has won many photographic awards with the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts’ Juried Photo Shows; first prize in an exhibition titled, “Barrie Nudes – leave your inhibitions at the door;” first prize in a competition titled, “Nude vs. Nature” with one model, 15 photographers, 30 minutes.

Lenore is an active member/volunteer with many art organizations such as The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts (BMFA) and The Bay Photography Club. She was a member of the Collingwood Public Library Arts’ Advisory Council and received an award for being one of the Town of Collingwood Arts & Culture Champions “Gang of 25".
