Juried Photo Show
The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts Annual Juried Photo Show is held during the month of November. The BMFA's first Juried Photo Show was held at the Collingwood Public Library in February of 1993. The organizers set their sights high and this level of professionalism has continued throughout the years.

The categories and jurors are changed with each Juried Photo Show as we attempt to match the jurors’ expertise with the categories. The categories incorporate portraiture, landscape, and design. With the onset of digital, retouching of images is now accepted in all categories. Students enter their work in any of the thematic categories but are juried separately.
In the beginning, the Juried Photo Show had a general theme and the entries were divided into prints and 35-mm slides. We now require unframed prints only that are matted and mounted on 1/16” sturdy foamboard.

In 2008, we moved the exhibition from the Collingwood Public Library to the BMFA Arts Centre. The photographs look beautiful on the brick walls of our heritage building. With the move, we saw an opportunity to host related events during the exhibition.
We receive approximately 500 entries each year and the quality of the work improves on an ongoing basis. The photographers are both amateur and professional and must reside in Ontario.
