Juried Art Show
The annual Juried Art Show is one of the signature events sponsored by the BMFA. Our mission is to promote, showcase, and award artists and artisans from the creative community. The show invites artists from Ontario to submit work in media including oils and acrylics, glass, pottery, wood, jewelry, metal, and textiles.
Each year, three different jurors are chosen from outside our area.Their task is challenging as the number of submissions has grown to more than two hundred. Prizes are awarded in four categories which include adult and high school student art and crafts. The reputation of the show has grown to the extent that we now have artists represented from all over southern Ontario.We are happy to award significant amounts in prize money each year. Each award winner also recives a congratulatory certificate from the mayor of Collingwood and our federal MP.
The Juried Art Show Committee begins organizing each September and presents the show each April. The commitment involves approximately seven meetings a year and a flurry of activity for the week before the opening reception. New volunteers are always very welcome to join our committee.
