Part 3 - An Eclectic Vision

Part 3 is the last of three auctions of the Clerkson Collection.  In September 2010, at the Arts Centre the BMFA will exhibit and sell by silent auction approximately 150 pieces which represent Murray's delight in collecting every genre of art.

The exhibition and silent auction at the Arts Centre continue throughout September and culminate on Saturday, September 25 with a reception from 4 to 8 pm. when final bids will be taken.

WORDSTOCK!

Wordstock is a new event coming September 10th and 11th 2010.  Collingwood's first literary festival will feature a gala opening with a wide range of activities that will appeal to all age groups.

There will be a live show at the Gayety Theatre, music, children's programming, a puppet show, graffiti artists and more.  The Arts Centre will join in the festivies by hosting a poetry reading event.

18 th Annual Juried Photo Show

October 6 to 29, 2010

The 18th Annual BMFA Juried Photo Show is taking place at the Arts Centre in Collingwood from October 6 to 29, 2010.

We are exploring new categories this year:  Catergory One is "Open", which allows minimal enhancement or manipulaiton of any subject matter.  Category Two, "Manipulate Me", is where one can present any two-dimensional work that is digitally enhanced or manipulated and may include mixed media, but no found objects and the work should be identifiable as a photograph.  Entrants must own all the rights to the work submitted and are responsible for obtaining model releases, when applicable.  In Category Three, "Students", (elementary and secondary) work may be entered in either of the above two themes.  In all categories, show us your best work.

Entries will be accepted mounted on sturdy foamcore with a pure white mat or printed on canvas and mounted on stretchers.  The stretchers should be at least 1- 1/2" deep.  The minimum image size for all submitted work is 8" x 12" or 96 square inches and the maximum size is 16 x 24" or 384 square inches.  Any shape will be accepted as long as it meets the minimum and maximum.  P

Please note that frames and plaques are not allowed.

All work must not have been entered or shown in any previous BMFA competition or exhibition.
