Founded in 1975, the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts is a vibrant organization, promoting the arts in the Georgian Triangle. It is the largest, longest running, most stable arts organization in the area with over 350 members.
We are located in Collingwood, Ontario, at the south end of vast, freshwater Georgian Bay, backed by the magnificence of the Niagara Escarpment. A physically beautiful area, the Georgian Triangle is recognized for artistic excellence and acknowledgement of the significance of arts and culture to our health and well being.

Shipbuilding, the town’s former economic base, has been largely replaced by tourism as the dominant economic force in the area, fostering a proliferation of artists and artisans. Older people retire here, and young people choose to raise their families here; both to enjoy all that the area has to offer culturally and physically. The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts was founded when shipbuilding was still the basic foundation of the economy, a time when arts and culture struggled to be recognized as important to our lives.
We have come a very long way since then, now working to push the arts accessibility envelope, promoting a culture of arts appreciation by developing and presenting creative and innovative programming, outreach activities and educational opportunities for all.
